The sew in wefts were created in the United States by Christina Jenkins in 1951. The word weft is derived from an Old English word, wefan, which means to sew.
Wefts are made from 100% human hair that are machine or hand tied on a horizontal strip. these extensions offer a high-quality, authentic look . These thick pieces do not require heat and provide full density and coverage.
There are many type of wefts from hand tied, machine tied, volume wefts, genius wefts and hyrid weft.

WEFT - QUALITY
100% Remy human hair is ideal for installation. Different weft types have different densities which allows for customization for fine to thick hair.
- Volume Weft: 3 individual wefts that are stacked and sewn with a machine on to the lace to bind them together. This results in a wider seam. Ideal for medium to course hair.
- Hand Tied Wefts: an individual weft that is hand knotted on thread to create an airy veil of hair. These can be combined with other wefts but cannot be cut at the seam or they will unravel. Ideal for fine to medium hair.
- Genius Wefts: the ideal hybrid weft. Genius wefts lay as flat as a handtied weft but can have the density of a volume weft. There is no return hair aka beard/mustache, like there is in machine or handed wefts. Genius wefts can also be cut to customize as needed.

WEFT - MAINTENANCE
Beaded foundations are the ideal method for a weft foundation. Beaded foundations can be customized for the individual needs of each application. As the natural hair grows out, the attached weft will move with that beaded foundation of natural hair. Maintenance move ups need to be scheduled every 4-8 weeks depending on hair growth.
With proper care an maintenance, wefts should last 6-8 months. Sulfate free shampoos, hydrating conditioners & masks with the use of heat protectants while styling will help preserve the quality of these extensions.
